Why STILL So Few Women Writers in TV and Film?

Once again a report show that women are under represented in an industry, this time TV and film writing. How many more reports do we need before this is taken seriously? Once again, the research highlights that when women are allowed place at the table, they bring in the viewers and have a very broad appeal. Gender equality works for everyone.

Does a B+ Make You Drop Out? Plus, Films for women (or not)

How confidant are you feeling today? I use ‘today’ advisedly because confidence is not something static; it’s mercurial. Some days we are fully of it, others, not so much… Lack of confidence is frequently offered as a reason why women don’t progress into senior management. Hmm, Quite possibly along with unconscious bias, and very conscious bias!

How News on the Gender Pay Gap Made Me Bald (!)

Companies in the UK had to report on their gender pay gap by April 4th 2018. Predictably results showed women earned less than men. Who knew? Some pretty spurious reasons were proffered as to why this is so, many of which were, frankly, laughable. Gender equality still seems a good way off. It’s enough to send a woman mad.

Who’d have thought that ‘promotive’ ideas from men gain them status and credibility but…similar ideas from women do not. What can we do?
