I’ve just come off the phone after talking with Karen Arthur. We ‘met’ on Twitter ages ago but I hadn’t kept up with how her career has moved on. Karen will be the subject of an interview with me in a few weeks , but as I was ‘researching’ (a grand term for I went to her website) I watched this video and I just fell in love with it. It genuinely gave me joy and I hope it does you, too. On the face of it, it’s just a promotional video for her design work but it says so much more. Do watch it, I think you will find it really inspiring.
One of the topics Karen and I discussed was how topics like needlework, dance, all the creative arts, in fact, are downgraded at school, which I touched upon here in ‘Home Economics?‘ Karen knows of what she talks as she taught for many years. I could have talked with her for ages but she is a busy woman. I am very much looking forward to the interview and wondering how I can get to some of her sewing classes!
