Ruth Bader-Ginsberg R.I.P. & Thank You

The extraordinary woman that was Ruth Bader-Ginsberg has died at 87, on Friday 18th September, 2020.

Well, she had a good long life, you might muse. She did, with an emphasis on the ‘good’. She was a titan in the American Justice system and through her quiet, determined demeanour fought and won many battles for human rights and gender equality. Her death leaves a huge vacuum in the American Supreme Court at a critical time for both those things. I’ve written about her in the newsletter before, but not on the blog, something I am remedying now.

If you don’t know much about Ruth Bader-Ginsberg, check out this video and then watch the film if you can:

There will be many tributes; she touched so many lives. There will also be a lot of wrangling over her successor and you will hear her name a lot in the coming weeks and months. We can only hope for women everywhere that her death galvanises those in the US who care about equality to use their influence and voting power to choose a worthy successor.

Rest in Peace, Ruth Bader-Ginsberg, and thank you. The Notorious RBG.
