1 Compelling Reason Why You Must Stop Being Realistic

Sometimes being practical and playing safe is simply not the right thing to do to be successful.

You may have seen the research which appeared in the Journal of Human Nutrition. In brief, it said people who set themselves large goals for weight loss lost more weight than those who set themselves more realistic targets. They found people who aimed to lose 10% of their body weight did just that. They lost 10%.

On the other hand, those who aspired to losing 27% lost 19%. Almost twice as much as the more ‘realistic’ 10% group.

Bin Received Wisdom

Received wisdom has been to set yourself an achievable, realistic target so as not to get disheartened when you don’t reach it. Yet 19% is definitely better than 10%.

That psychology has to be true for other things in life, don’t you think?
