Warning – what follows are the words of a woman high on her work. You have been warned…

I hope you’ll forgive me for this bit of promotion but I am in such a flurry of excitement here. Today is the day the audio download version of Speak Up goes live. We’ve had enquiries about it from all over the globe and finally I can say yes, you can go to the Speak Up ball!

It doesn’t matter where you are in the world, you can download it and listen. and give your career a great boost. Plus, all through August we have a special launch offer. I’ve taken £20 off the usual price! You get audio and worksheets. It’s so simple, you listen in whenever it suits you, and then you complete a worksheet after each chapter, whenever it suits you. Perfect for busy professional women.

Here’s a sample worksheet which accompanies the second chapter in Speak Up.

Worksheet for Question Two – Language Matters

Once you have listened to chapter two complete this worksheet.
Before each meeting you attend ask yourself:
What do I want the outcome of this meeting to be? Start with the end in mind. Do you want to have made some points, left an impression, raised your profile, got a new assignment, etc? Always ask yourself that question and you’ll get the most out of the meeting.

What am I looking for from this meeting/interview etc?

What is the message I need to get across?

How can I succinctly give that message in a headline?

Try it retrospectively. Think back to your last meeting. What was the headline info that you needed to give? Did you give it in a headline, or did you use some of the language tactics described in chapter two?

List three language habits you’d like to change. You may need to ask a good friend to help with you this.

Each worksheet is different depending on the topic we’ve covered. Some are short and some are a bit longer. I’ve also added a few bonus elements.

One last thing, I want to say a huge thank you to Danni and Gary at Ecommweb for their patience and skill. If you ever need a shop on your website I recommend them. They have been great. Fantastic midwives to Speak Up!

Right, I’m off to pop the cork on a chilled bottle of champagne. If you’d like to find out more about Speak Up and listen to a free sample of my dulcet tones (!), click here for Speak Up. Hurry though, the special offer only applies through August.
