Who Are You?

This is a personal development exercise I use on my popular Renewyou seminar. Do try it out and let me know how you get on.

Take a blank sheet of paper and ‘draw’ a picture of yourself in the centre of the page.

Now surround it with the list of labels you have about yourself, your beliefs, your strengths and weaknesses/development areas for all of your life-personal, work, leisure, physical, academic and so on. Use coloured crayons if you have them.

For example, it may include words like sister, mother, pessimistic, optimist, hard worker, idealist, realist, daughter, carer, dogsbody, assertive, leader, and so on.

Now add in those labels other you think other people may hold about you, good or bad.

When you’re finished, take a good look at what you have written. Are there labels that you want to change or are you happy with your list? Does it represent life as you want it to be or are there some changes you’d like to make?
