This week my eye was caught by an article about a fashion collection showing in New York.
This is not my usual area of interest (as my clothes will testify). I was drawn to the article in The I Newspaper by the accompanying photo. It showed a young woman with Down’s Syndrome, Madeleine Stuart, confidently striding the catwalk. The headline was:
Down’s Syndrome Model Conquers Catwalk With Her Own Collection.
It is an inspiring and uplifting story of one woman’s determination not to live up to her labels. Less than two years after making her runway debut, Madeline Stuart, a model with Down’s syndrome, launched her own fashion label at New York Fashion Week, with a collection of sporty tops and leggings. How inspiring is that? You can read it in full here.
Thanks to HNGN.com for the photo of Madeleine.
