Do you sometimes find yourself not knowing whether to laugh at cry at things you read in the media? I wonder if you spotted this one?
A brief newspaper item caught my eye the other day; it was about the actress Salma Hayak calling for equal pay and better roles for female actors.
That sounds interesting I thought, I’ll Google her and see what I can find out.
I couldn’t find the link to her comment but got this instead, you will be bowled over by the (unintended) irony:

She oozed the glamour of the French Riviera during her first red carpet appearance in Cannes.
But on Saturday as Salma Hayek attended talks, the actress failed to impress in a dowdy knee-length dress.
With clashing fabrics and a restrictive pussy-bow neckline, the garment did little for the 48-year-old’s style credentials.
The American-Mexican beauty kept her make-up to a minimum and wore her shoulder-length brunette locks down. She was giving interviews with Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts at the Kering Women in Motion event on Saturday morning.
Kering, which is the official partner of the Cannes Film Festival 2015, is owned by her husband, François-Henri Pinault. It launched Women in Motion this year to ‘celebrate women’s talent in cinema and encourage debate on their contribution to – and role in – the film industry.’
Salma wore her brown hair in loose waves and kept her make-up to a minimum. The actress sported a pair of red high heels to match her outfit on Saturday morning.Meanwhile, she later slipped into a striking black evening dress, complete with a plunging neckline and a tight waistline. Earlier in the week Salma wowed in a series of show-stopping gowns at various parties and red carpet events.
The pair took part in the event which celebrates women in film and their contribution to the industry
