Here is a short version of a much longer exercise that appears in RenewYou. Try it and see what you come up with.
Take a sheet of paper.
Grab some coloured crayons. (Pinch the kids’, or do it in biro and pencil, and make a note to buy some next time you are shopping because doodling is good for you.)
Draw a smiley face in the middle of the page. This is you. Yes, really it is. See my fabulous drawing above for inspiration. (I actually do have green eyes and frizzy yellow hair…)
On left hand side list 3 positive words that other people may use to describe you.
On right hand side list 3 positive words you would use to describe yourself.
Underline those you like.
Score out those you don’t.
I hope you will have at least two positive messages there to give you a boost when you need it. If not, carry on doodling; it will lift your spirits and help you think.
We don’t only mess around with crayons on RenewYou, I promise. It’s a burst of inspiration and joy which will boost you up for the dark winter months ahead. In fact, for the next 12 months. More information can be found here. Give yourself the gift of a day to focus solely on you. And…have fun with the crayons!
